Fareham and Crofton Cricket Club - The Ground
The Ground
Our Ground is situated at Bath Lane. We are fortunate to have two squares. The “A” square and the “B” square. The pitches and ground are maintained by the Clubs Groundsman (Tony Brown) and his team of volunteers.
A message from Tony Brown:-
I have No doubt like me you have been watching the weather. Well because of the weather not much has been done to the squares but life does go on and the mowers have been sent away for there annual service and are now back just waiting for the change in the weather. We did have one opportunity to get on and carry out some aeration to the squares which means punching 5 inch deep holes in it to allow the air and water to get down to the lower profile, it also encourages the roots to go down the holes and secure the top surface to the underneath. Not usually done in late January but that was the only opportunity we had, plenty of rain in Nov and Dec and then the Snow.!!
Pavilion has a problem with the ceiling in the home changing room, it decided to fall down !!!. Hopefully this will all be cleared up by the start of the season. I am also on a promise that the showers will be sorted out.
The RATS decided it was a good idea to move into the changing rooms for the winter and use my seed for lunch. How they got in I have yet to discover but they have now been treated to extra food and hopefully have returned to the railway bank.!!
Parking:-
Fareham Borough Council has implemented 'residents only' parking restrictions in Bath Lane and Deanes Park Road, meaning that it is no longer possible to park vehicles in the vicinity of the cricket ground, either at weekends or in midweek, when evening and colts games are being staged. Visiting players, officials and supporters should, therefore, park in the Upper Bath Lane public pay park and use the pedestrian subway beneath Eastern Way to access the ground. There is alternative car parking at Wykeham House School, East Street, Fareham.
